Richard Bahr, 77, of Duncombe died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Windsor Manor in Webster City. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Richard Gene Bahr, son of Orrin and Delores (Volkert) Bahr, was born July 27, 1945 in Dubuque. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1963 and University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree. On June 16, 1967 Richard was united in marriage to Linda J. LeCocq at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Dubuque. He taught physical education for 43 years at Fort Dodge junior high.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda; children, Douglas (Suzy) Bahr of Jewell, Darren (Molly) Bahr of Ballwin, MO, Angie (Dan) Albers of Minburn; grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Mason, Chayton, Phelan, Tala; great-grandchildren, Junior, Aracelii, Leo; sister, Pam Sawvel of Clarksville and nephews, Cory and Jeff Sawvel.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Orrin and Delores Bahr; daughter, Jennifer Hope Bahr; grandson, Tyler Daniel Albers; brother-in-law, Larry Sawvel and nephew, Kevin Sawvel.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Richard enjoyed collecting things to repurpose, fishing, spending time outdoors and with his family.
