Peggy Turner, 93, of Webster City died Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Van Diest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025 at Faith United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Cass Center Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for the family.

Peggy LaVonne Capsel, daughter of Earl and Ethel Loux Capsel, was born October 20, 1931 at the family home in Wright County. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1949. On July 3, 1952, she was united in marriage to Maurice Turner. Peggy worked for Scott’s Dime Store, Franklin Drug and later at Northwestern Bell Telephone. In 1960, she transferred to Tucson, AZ, and then to Webster City in 1971. Peggy retired from the telephone company after 33 ½ years, in 1982. After retirement, she worked part-time for McDonalds and helped her sister in the restaurant at Kamrar.

She loved playing cards, putting together puzzles, gambling, BINGO, going fishing, and spending time with her grandsons. Peggy was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Hamilton Hospital gift shop for 15 years.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Marcella (Bob) Olson of Ellsworth; grandson, Nick Olson of Webster City; great-granddaughter, Lilli Olson of Webster City; sisters, Evelyn Chelsvig of Eagle Grove, Judy Berg of Pine City, MN and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Maurice in 2000; her parents; grandson, Jon Olson in 2022; siblings, Aletha White, Darlene Allen, Delores Griffith, Jack Capsel, Betty Willard, Charles Capsel and Shirley Jans.
