Myron Vanhorn

Myron “Joe” Vanhorn, 82, of Vincent died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Fort Dodge Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Myron Guy Vanhorn, son of Milo and Thelma Vanhorn, was born September 17, 1937 in Perry. He attended school in Grand Junction and helped on the family farm. On November 11, Myron was united in marriage to Lois Elaine Hiner in Jefferson. He worked many years for Iowa Beef, Pederson’s Construction and the 234 Operating Engineers, retiring in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois; children, LuGene Kopaska of Menlo, Guy Vanhorn of Webster City, Albert Vanhorn of Fort Dodge, Jeff (Marianne) Vanhorn of Webster City, Scott (Keri) Vanhorn of Waverly; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Vanhorn; and sister, Doris Hillman.
He enjoyed fishing, dancing to country music and talking to anyone he met.
