Minyon Spellmeyer

Minyon Spellmeyer, 90, of Webster City died Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Community Church of Kamrar with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Minyon Malvera Frost, daughter of Carl and Mabel Page Frost, was born June 13,1935 on the family farm in rural Stratford, Iowa. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1953 and the Iowa Lutheran Hospital of Nursing in 1956. On June 26, 1960, Minyon was united in marriage to Delmer Duane Spellmeyer in Webster City. The couple had been on a “blind date” and married six months later. Minyon worked as a nurse in California, as a flight attendant for United Airlines and also for Hamilton Hospital prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her sons, Bill (Sarah) Spellmeyer of Webster City, Matt (Brenda) Spellmeyer of Boone; grandchildren, Lincoln Spellmeyer, Madeleine Spellmeyer, Ella Spellmeyer, Jordan (Shelby) Moen, Cameron (Tayla) Moen and Haley Call and great-grandchildren, Elijah Spellmeyer, Tiereny Titus, Cade Moen and Bexon Moen.

Minyon was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer in 1996; her parents and siblings, Harry, Betty and Greta.

She was a member of the Community Church of Kamrar. Minyon spent many years being a caretaker for family, along with helping with church coffees and funeral luncheons.
