Melvin Longhenry, 95, of Webster City died Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Southfield Wellness and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Cass Center Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is caring for Melvin and his family.

Melvin Arthur Longhenry, son of Arthur and Elise (Murken) Longhenry, was born November 5, 1930 in Boone County, Iowa the oldest of seven children. He attended school in Boone. On August 19, 1950 Melvin was united in marriage to Donna Mae White at the Duncombe Methodist Church. To this union two children were born, Dennis and Karla. They lived in Webster City before moving to the farm at 1961 North Stonega Avenue, Webster City. Melvin was a long-time farmer at his wife’s homestead near Homer along with Stonega and Blairsburg. He raised cattle, hogs and chickens over the years, retiring in 1995. Melvin enjoyed fixing things and fishing along with traveling with Donna.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Donna; son, Dennis (Anita) Longhenry of Webster City; grandchildren, Chrissi (Josh) Buchanan of Denver , Kate (Tony) Haisman of Polk City, Kandice Keenan and Kendall Keenan both of Webster City; great-grandchildren, Chase, Lucas, Emily, Ty, Ava, Alex, Xavier, Konner, Mason, Sierra and Selena; son-in-law, Rick Keenan of Stratford; brother, Curt (Sherry) Longhenry of Mountain Home, AR; sisters-in-law, Lillie Longhenry of Ogden, Jeanine Smith of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karla Keenan; siblings, Marilyn McKee, Dee Kastler, Eileen Horn, Alice Westrum, Kenny Longhenry; brothers-in-law, Louie Smith, Jack Horn, Lyle Westrum and nephew, Allen Longhenry.
