Maxine Packard, 95, of Webster City died Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Van Diest Medical
Center. A time of fellowship will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at
Faith United Methodist Church. Foster Funeral and Cremation is entrusted with the services.
Lulu Maxine Whaley, daughter of Frederick and Nina Bailey Whaley, was born February 16, 1926 in
Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City and Area institute of Business in Des
Moines. On July 4, 1954, Maxine was united in marriage to Clayton Blair Packard in Webster City. She
worked many years as a secretary for Beam Industries before retiring.
She is survived by her nephews, Terry (Shannon) Stein of Webster City, Doug (Lisa) Stein of Cedar
Rapids and several other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton in 1982; brother,
Delavan Whaley; sisters, Helen Graham, Doris Nelson, Louise Alexander and Mildred Russell.
She was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church where she had been a long-time
organist.
