Maxine Nelson

Maxine M. Nelson, 88, of Webster City, died on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Van Diest Medical Center after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Terry Davenport officiating. Maxine, the oldest daughter of Gottfred and Anna Shold was born May 23, 1922 in Albert City, Iowa where she also received her education at the community school. On February 10, 1946 she married James W. Nelson. The couple later moved to Webster City. Maxine is survived by six daughters, Elisabeth Fosseen of Shawnee, Kansas; Eunice (Bill) Barber of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Bernice (Joseph) Gardner of Spencer, Iowa; Miriam (Floyd) Long of Webster City; Rebekah Nelson of Minneapolis; Leah (John) Gosh of Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister Roslyn Holmberg of Spencer, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Nelson, her parents and brothers, Avery and Clifford. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
