Mary Worthington, 89, of Webster City died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at First Congregational Church UCC with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with serving the family.
Mary Margaret Johnson, daughter of Leigh and Dorothy (Barkema) Johnson, was born August 21, 1934 in Jewell. She graduated from Jewell High School in 1952. Mary was united in marriage to Warren Irving Worthington in Webster City. She worked many years in the Hamilton County treasurer’s office and then as the office manager for McMurray Hatchery.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Barbara) Worthington of Denver, CO; Douglas (Alice) Worthington of Fort Myers, FL; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sister, Deborah (Richard) Shinn of Erie, CO.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; son, David Worthington; her parents, Leigh and Dorothy Johnson; sisters, Dorothy Mae Berhow, Carolyn Larson and brother, Gerald “Jerry” Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church UCC.
