Mary Scott, 83, of Webster City, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Hamilton Hospital at Webster City. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at Webster City, with Rev. Scott Boone officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday followed by a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Mary Alma Foley, daughter of Leo and Erma Bates Foley, was born December 8, 1924 at Webster City. She received her education in Webster City schools, graduating from Lincoln High in 1943. She worked as a bookkeeper/clerk for Scott’s Department Store and Spurgeon’s at Webster City. On May 2 1946, she married Virgil Wayne Scott at St.Thomas Aquinas. The couple farmed in the Webster City-Blairsburg area. They retired to Webster City in 1987. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Virgil; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Susan Scott of Knoxville; Jim and Adele Scott of Stratford; Tom and Paula Scott of Webster City; David and Donna Scott of Jewell; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Ole Wibholm of Blairsburg; Cathy and Gregg Olson of Webster City; Margaret and Mark Hoelscher of Williams; Susan and Kyle Westrum of Stratford; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Anderson of Tucson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Russell Foley. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas, rosary society,former church organist, funeral committee and a member of the A.Y.N. Club.
