On February 5, 1950 Mary was united in marriage to Robert Lowell Olthoff at Stratford Lutheran Church. The couple briefly lived near Kamrar and then moved to a farm in the Stanhope area where they raised their family, a girl and three boys. She and her husband were part of a card club for many years. Mary enjoyed being involved in her children's activities, which included their academic, music, and athletic pursuits, and attended nearly every event while they were in school at South Hamilton. She loved singing and cooking for her family. Mary dearly loved and was very proud of her family, treasured her many friendships, and relished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
