Marvin E. McKinney, 79, of Webster City, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Stratford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg with Rev. Bill Keller officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Marvin Eugene McKinney son of Sylvester and Pauline Skelting McKinney was born on January 24, 1928 in Adel, Iowa. He received his education from the Webster City Schools. Marvin served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. On July 20, 1944, he married Katheryn Phyllis Buckles in Des Moines. The couple resided in Webster City. Marvin had worked for two years for the Illinois Central Railroad before beginning his over 44 year career with Electrolux where he was the Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement in 1992. He had been residing at the Stratford Nursing and rehabilitation Center since December. In addition to his wife Phyllis, he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Carol McKinney, Joe and Mary McKinney all of Webster City; granddaughter, Deanna (Steven) Wilson of Dallas, GA.; two grandsons, Matthew (Misty) McKinney and Marty (Lynn) McKinney all of Webster City. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ava Arlene Miller. He was a member of the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City and the V.F.W. Post #1856 of Fort Dodge.
