Lois Montgomery, 91, of Webster City died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Southfield Wellness Community. Due to the pandemic, private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Lois Belle Strain, daughter of William and Agnes (McDonald) Strain, was born December 23, 1928 in Hubbard, Iowa. She graduated from Graettinger High School. On December 30, 1947 she was united in marriage to Raymond Ira Montgomery in Graettinger. The couple resided in Webster City. After raising her children, she worked as a sales associate for Osweiler’s and Kid’s Cottage.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Ray; children, Timothy (Maureen) Montgomery of Manchester, Laura (Andrew) Fortune of Webster City; grandchildren, Stephanie, Lisa, Kellie, David, Megan; six great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Strain of Fort Dodge, sister-in-law, Marilyn Strain of Webster City and many extended family.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Harold Strain, Rose Wherta, Alice Cress, Helen Simmons and Doris Green.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
