Lloyd E. Lumley, 80, of Webster City, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City with Rev. Mike Willer officiating. Burial was at the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Iowa. Military Rites were conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. Lloyd Eugene Lumley, son of Harry and Gladys Helt Lumley was born October 16, 1928 at home in Butler County, Iowa. He attended school in Hansell, Iowa. Following his education, he joined the United States Army serving in WWII. On August 3, 1952 he married Deloris Orr at Nashua, Iowa. He worked for Jason Manufacturing in Hampton and United Hydraulic in Waverly before transferring to the Hampton office for 15 years. He also worked for Franklin County road department until his retirement. Mrs. Lumley died March 26, 1987. On Dec. 19, 1988, Lloyd married Irene Nettie in Hubbard, IA. He is survived by wife, Irene; daughters, Katherine (Merlyn) Schloemer of St. James, MN; Shirley (Randy) Fields of Hampton, IA; sons, Mark (Ruth) Lumley of Austin, MN; Wayne Lumley of Atchison, KS; David (Laura) Lumley of Lewiston, ID; 16 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two half brothers, Leland and Richard Lumley; two half sisters, Wilma Kay and Mary Lou; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife Deloris, he was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond Lumley and sister, Mildred (Babe) Varrelman. Lloyd was a member of the Moose family Center and the American Legion Post #191 both of Webster City.
