Lila Mae Havinga, 87, of Webster City, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church of Kamrar, with Revs. Tom Bower and John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Lila Mae Havinga, daughter of Marvin and Lena Olthoff Havinga was born June 14, 1927 at Kamrar. She received her education in rural schools and graduated from Kamrar Public School. She also attended the University of Northern Iowa receiving her Masters degree in Elementary Education. She taught in the Jefferson school system for two years and in the Webster City school system (South Building and 5th grade at Sunset Heights). Lila had resided at Southfield Assisted Living and Wellness Community since 2010. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Susan and (Billy Jack) Vincent and Gregory Middents, all of Sherman, TX; great-nieces, Kari (Adam) Lockhart and Kaitlin Vincent; brother-in-law, Gerald (Carol) Middents of Dallas, TX; several cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlys Middents in 1988. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed volunteering at her church, traveling, crafts, cards, gardening and yard work. Her favorite places of travel were Switzerland and Canada.
