Leonard Carlson, 90, of Webster City died Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Faith United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Cass Center Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Leonard Junior Carlson, son of Leonard Axel and Beulah Faye (Balsley) Carlson, was born February 9, 1934 in Webster City. He attended school at the White Fox school house. On October 3, 1953, Leonard was united in marriage to Verlijean Boswell at the Church of Christ in Webster City. He farmed with oxen for many years with his Dad before owning and operating his own trucking company.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Kenneth) Balla of Harcourt; son, Lenny Carlson of Webster City; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and sister, Lorene Grandgeorge of Eagle Grove.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Verlijean; his parents; daughter-in-law, Elaine Carlson; great-grandson, Logan Johnson; siblings, Maryanna Carlson, in infancy, Loraine Carlson and Jack Carlson.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and a past member of the Moose Family Lodge. He loved to go fishing in Canada and Minnesota, camp and hunt deer and pheasant.
