Judith Knudson

Judith Knudson, 73, of Blairsburg, died Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Blairsburg with Reverend Paul Fischer officiating. Burial will follow the services at Blairsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Judith Page Sheppard, daughter of Harrison and Priscilla Dudley Sheppard, was born December 5, 1943 in New Haven, CT. She graduated from high school in the New Haven area. She married Lyle Eugene Knudson on February 14, 1964 in North Haven, CT. Judith worked at the Holiday Inn in Fort Dodge and after moving to Blairsburg, she worked at the Norseman Inn until her retirement. Judith is survived by her husband, Lyle of Blairsburg; children, Paul (Angela) Knudson of Fort Dodge, Karen (Douglas) Barnett of Fort Dodge, Dean (Tammy) Knudson of Des Moines; grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Gilliland, Allison Barnett, Jessica Knudson and Jeremy (Paige) Knudson; great-grandchildren, Roselynn, Ty Ty, Lexi and one on the way; brothers, David (Carol) Sheppard of Chattanooga, TN, Todd Sheppard of New Haven, CT; sisters, Lynn McKenzie of Seattle, WA, Susan Nuss of Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dudley Sheppard and two brothers-in-law. Judith was a very active member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Blairsburg, serving in the church circle. She was a member of the Algona Chapter #68 Order of the Eastern Star, the VFW Auxiliary and the Tuesday Morning Coffee Club. She loved crocheting, knitting and making crafts, her hands were always busy. Judith was a good mother and loved taking care of her family.
