Joe Schnepf, 65, of Kellogg, and longtime Stanhope resident died Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, due to injuries sustained in a semi accident. A Memorial Service for both he and his brother, Stephen, will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for the family.
Joseph Raymond Schnepf, son of William and Bernadette (Wilberding) Schnepf, was born August 7, 1956, in Sioux City, IA. He graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1974. After graduating, Joe drove bus for the school district for 2 years.
Joe worked at Heartland Coop (formerly known as Farmers Coop) in Stanhope, as a truck driver, for 45 years. Joe transferred to the Newton location when he moved to Kellogg November 2020.
Joe was united in marriage to Lyn Hall on October 27th, 1988. The couple later divorced in 2006.
He is survived by sisters, Mary (Todd) Hassebrock of Williams, Carmie (Pat) Halligan of Fort Dodge, Jean Amosson of Clive; brothers Peter Schnepf of Webster City, Paul (Theresa) Schnepf of Ankeny; special friend, Julie Pierson of Kellogg and many nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, brother Steve, brother-in-law Tony Amosson, nephews Christopher and Jacob Amosson.
Joe was a man of integrity and kindness, living a humble, simple life. He liked going to car shows and woodworking.
