Johnny Dean (JD) Ross, 63, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Panora Specialty Care with family by his side. He was born on November 13, 1958, in Wamego, KS, to John and Ann (Wilkerson) Ross.
JD was united in marriage to Barbara Sorensen on September 23, 1977, in Marshalltown, IA, at Calvary Baptist Church. From that union they had two daughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Ross of Hubbard, iA, and Michelle Ross of Elk Plain, WA; ex-wife, Barbara Ross of Hubbard, IA; brother, Terry (Tammy) Ross of Scranton, IA; granddaughters, Icie Marie Weston of Webster City, IA, and Stormie Baker of Marshalltown, IA; great-granddaughter Octavia; several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
JD attended LDF Community School in Le Grand, IA, where he lived for most of his childhood. He was a truck driver during much of his early career, then later worked in maintenance at various factories and businesses. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, target practice with pistols and watching westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; long-time companion Vickie Olson; and a nephew, Dustin Ross.
Foster Funeral Home in Webster City is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services for the public.
