John Anderson, 82, of Webster City died Monday, February 5, 2024 at Windsor Manor in Webster City. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2024 Swedlanda Lutheran Cemetery in Hector, Minnesota. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer on June 15, 2024 in Hector, Minnesota.
John Leland Anderson, son of Hilding and Eileen (Ruff) Anderson, was born May 2, 1941 in Franklin, Minnesota. He graduated from Buffalo Lake High School, completed his undergraduate degree at Mankato State University and received his master’s degree in education from Texas Tech. John worked for 30 plus years at the Arrowhead Area Education Agency and was a life-long farmer at heart.
He is survived by his sons, Greg Anderson of Granite Falls, WA, Michael (Anna) Anderson of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughter, Natalie (Jake) Monson of Smithfield, UT; grandchildren, Lincoln, Grady, Rhett, Molly and Emmitt; sister, Veronica (Don) Hansen of Hutchinson, MN; brothers, Larry (Joan) Anderson of Hutchinson, MN, Loren (Emilie) Anderson of Eau Claire, WI and several extended family members. John was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended Stratford Lutheran Church and was a past member of Kiwanis, Singles in Agriculture and was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made in John’s honor to the Webster City Meals on Wheels, Webster City Congregate Meals or Stratford Lutheran Church. All memorials may be mailed to the funeral home at 800 Willson Ave, Webster City, Iowa 50595
