Joan Foster, 88, of Webster City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa in Mason City. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Webster City Links. Private family burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Joan Kay Riley, daughter of Everett and Thelma (Klein) Riley, was born May 4, 1935 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1953. On December 8, 1956, Joan was united in marriage to Verne K Foster at the First Baptist Church in Webster City. She enjoyed gardening and birdwatching, but most importantly time spent with her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Verne of Webster City; their children, Kay Ross, Alayne (Rick) Rasmussen both of Webster City, Beth (Jamie) Brandt of Duncombe, Kreg Foster of Webster City; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Riley of Webster City and several extended family members.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Larry Ross; granddaughter, Joan Rasmussen; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ray Scott and sister-in-law, Shirley Riley.
