Janice Virginia (Harrison) Anderson, 76, of Rochester, MN died Friday, May 1, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Janice was born October 18, 1943, in Webster City, Iowa to Fred and Pauline (Daniels) Harrison. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1961 and Iowa State University in 1965 with a BA degree. Janice married Ronald Anderson on July 10, 1966. She was a schoolteacher for a brief time and later became a registered nurse and worked at the Charter House in Rochester.
Janice was a member of Homer Methodist Church in Homer, Iowa. She loved working in the yard, gardening, and planting flowers. She had a passion for dressing up and decorating for Halloween. Janice was an avid sports fan; she was routinely looking for a game to watch. She was a great cook, a caring mother, and always welcomed people into her home.
She is survived by daughter Jill Anderson of Rochester; son Jeffrey Anderson of Rochester; ex-husband Ronald Anderson of Madison, WI; and nephews Mike and Mark Trapp of Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister Joyce (Harrison) Trapp.
Visitation will be held at the Macken Funeral Home River Park Chapel in Rochester on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2020, at Foster Funeral Home in Webster City, Iowa.
Memorials are preferred to Quarry Hill Nature Center or to Olmsted County History Center.
