Janet Brock

Janet Brock, 63, of Calvin, Kentucky, entered Heaven, Monday, February 4, 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Chapel, with ministers Don Myers and Shawn Banwell officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday. Janet Kaye Batcheller, daughter of Glen and LaVeta Nickles Batcheller, was born October 31, 1944 at Webster City. She attended the Iowa School for the Deaf at Council Bluffs, graduating in 1963. She attended Tobin Business College at Fort Dodge, then was employed at Hahne Printing at Webster City. In April of 1969, she married Raymond Hartford Brock at Colorado Springs, CO. The couple resided at Denver, CO for 14 years. In 1982, they moved to Calvin. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Brock is survived by her husband, Raymond; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Curtis Poore of Ewing, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Becky Brock of Calvin; Louis and Wendy Brock of Pineville, KY; 6 grandchilden; 2 great-grandchildren; her mother, LaVeta Batcheller of Des Moines; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Richard Thoe of Colorado Springs; Kathy Stark of Waukee, IA; Pam and Rex West of Johnston, IA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness.
