A celebration of life for James (Jim) Edward Waldron, 83, will be held 1:00pm on December 26, 2017 at Foster Funeral Home in Webster City, Iowa. Jim was born on November 15, 1934 to Charles and Mary (Morrisey) Waldron in Estherville, Iowa. He graduated from Estherville High School and attended the local community college. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. As Jim was serving his community as an Estherville Police Officer he met a young school teacher, Phyllis Solberg. They had their first date at the Policeman's Ball on Saint Patrick's Day. They were united in marriage on June 10, 1961. Their daughter Nancy came into their lives in December 1965 and their son Paul in January 1969. They spent over 57 wonderful years together. He loved golfing, fishing, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with his family. He was a practical joker and everyone who knew him loved him. He was humble, kind and would do anything for anyone. He was a very important part of his family's lives. Jim passed away on December 17, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Left to cherish Jim's memory are his wife Phyllis, daughter Nancy, son Paul, grandchildren Bobby (Lynn), Amanda (Cody), Alissa (Nate), Brittany, Mary, Grant, six great-grandchildren, brother-/sister-in-law Jerry and Patricia Solberg and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
