Jacqueline Butler

Jacqueline Butler, 83, of Webster City passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025 at Faith United Methodist Church, followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.

Jacqueline Rae Harris, daughter of Robert Harold and Helen V. Gordon Harris, was born March 10, 1942 in Webster City. She grew up on the Eastside of Webster City, and loved adventures at Kendall Young Park searching for fossils, mushrooms and dinosaur bones. Jackie started her education at Hilltop elementary school and graduated in the Class of 1960 at Lincoln High School in Webster City. During this time, she was active in Girl Scouts, piano playing at church, cheerleading, girls’ glee choir, working at the local bakery and served as the class secretary. After high school, Jackie attended Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing, graduating in 1963 with a three-year degree as an RN. Jackie was married to her high school sweetheart, Miles Butler on August 31, 1963. They lived on a farm 10 miles NE of Webster City for many years. She was not only a nurse but a farm wife and partnered with Miles to help run a successful farm.

Jackie, as a nurse, did many different jobs in her 45 years of service. She worked at Dr. Joseph Ptacek’s office, labor and delivery nurse at Hamiton County Hospital, school nurse, public health nurse, then Public Health Administrator, chairman of ISAC, Iowa Health Dept, head for Breast and Cervical Cancer, Diabetes program and much more. After her retirement, she helped start the Free Clinic in Hamilton County and kept it going for many years.

Other activities Jackie was involved with include church youth leader, choir member, United Methodist women’s group, square dancing club, birthday club, marching band Mom, foreign exchange program host for many, P.E.O., active in the Democratic Party, party planner, seamstress, W.C. softball team, card club, loved to travel, respite care volunteer, collector of china and beanie babies and so much more… Most of all Jackie loved God and loved her neighbors, whoever they are or whatever they needed, she was there for them and shared this love her whole life. That was her legacy.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Miles; daughter, Jodie Cue of Newton, IA and son, Matthew (Karen) Butler of Sun City West, AZ. Grandchildren, Jacob Cue of Newton, IA, Tyler Cue of Story City, IA, Jared Butler of Dublin, OH, Carly Butler of Kent, OH, Johnathon (Sabrina) Wobbrock of Nashville, TN and Jacob Wobbrock, Clintonville, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert; her son-in-law, Rev. Douglas Cue and nephew, Robbie Harris.

Jackie will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered.
