Howard L. Mallow, 96, of Webster City, died Monday, March 9, 2009 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Mike Kroona officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Howard Leon Mallow son of Harry and Lena Heng Mallow was born on October 3, 1912 in Radcliffe, Iowa. He received his education from the Webster City Community Schools. On March 14, 1931, he married Velda Dora Woodmansee in Webster City. Howard worked for over 32 years for the State Highway Commission (D.O.T.) as an Operator 2, retiring in 1974. Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Velda Mallow; daughters, Barbara Raske of Radcliffe; Patricia Nilles of Webster City; Shirley (Marvin) Douty of Buena Vista, CO; Sherrill (Burdette Jr.) Bell of Webster City; son, Thomas (Sharyn) Mallo of Webster City; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris Beauchene and Frances Segar; brothers, Elmer and Frank Mallow; sons-in-law, Bernie Nilles and Leo Raske. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City where was baptized and confirmed.
