Helen Johnson

Helen Marie (Mrs. Newell) Johnson, 97, passed away Saturday, May 09, 2009, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, at the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, 1000 Willson Avenue, Webster City, Iowa, with Rev. Laird Keever officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City. Helen Marie Bolton was born May 18, 1911, in Dunlap, Iowa, the daughter of Laura V. Prolasco and Ernest F. Bolton. On September 3, 1938, she was united in marriage to Newell S. Johnson, at Omaha, Nebraska, and the couple resided in Omaha. In 1949, they moved to Webster City where they established the Johnson Furniture Store. Mr. Johnson died on November 20, 1985. In addition to her husband Newell, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. She was an active member of the 1st Congregational UCC and a long-time member of Chapter B.A. of T.T.T.
