Genevieve Carroll

Genevieve Carroll, 89, of Webster City, died Monday, December 2, 2019 at Van Diest Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am. Monday, December 9, 2019 at First Congregational U.C.C. with Pastor Craig Blaufuss officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Genevieve Vest, daughter of George and F. Laurie Buxton Vest was born April 20, 1930 in Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1948 and earned a master’s degree in Child Development and Education from Drake University. Genevieve was united in marriage on December 31, 1954 to John Dixon Carroll. She taught Kindergarten – 8th grade in the Webster City school system for 37 years.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Carlene) Hayes of Alpharette, GA, Genonne (Steve) Anderson of St. Charles, IA; grandchildren, Alexandria Hayes, Barret Hayes, Shanley (Alison) Anderson, Benjamin (Shelby) Anderson and brother, George W. Vest Jr. of Iowa Falls.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, John in May 2011 and her parents.
She was an active member of First Congregational U.C.C. and belonged to the Haystack Circle and Eastern Star.
Memorials may be left in Genevieve’s memory to the Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa, 725 S. 32nd Street, Fort Dodge, Iowa 50501.
