Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Gary Lee Pruismann was born April 13, 1966, in Britt, Iowa. Gary graduated from Northeast Hamilton High School in 1984; and Hawkeye Institute of Technology in 1986 with a degree in Animal Science. On November 1, 1986, he married his first love, Kristin (Kris)

Klaver, whom he met for the first time on the kindergarten bus. Gary and Kris have three children Gregory Pruismann of Webster City, Kellie Owens of Clarksville, TN, and Katelin (Brady) Hartmann of Stanhope; and seven grandchildren, Quynn, Briggs, James, Heath, Hank, Murphy, and Maeve.

Gary was generous, playful at heart and lived life to the fullest. He loved the outdoors and held a genuine passion for Mother Nature. Gary enjoyed raising cattle, growing a fruitful garden, hunting, fishing, and most of all making others laugh and smile.

Gary was a man of many talents and made sure to pass his knowledge and skills on to his kids any opportunity he had. He and Kris loved to travel to new places especially if there was an ocean nearby. To Gary, strangers were just friends he hadn’t met yet. His gift of gab and that infectious smile were his signature trademarks. Gary had a successful career which spanned 40 years, of which he seldom missed a day of work.

In addition to Kris, their children, and grandchildren, Gary is survived by Don and Beverly Deen, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Barry and Kristen Klaver, sister Jennifer (Bruce) Voight, and many other extended family members.

Gary is preceded in death by a granddaughter, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Verlon and Judy Klaver, and lifelong great friend Tracy Brim.

Memorials may be made in honor of Gary to the Stratford Fire & Rescue.
