Gary L. Cormaney, 71, of Blairsburg, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Van Diest Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams with Father Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:45 p.m. followed by the scripture service. Gary Leo Cormaney, son of Charley and Deloris Murphy Cormaney, was born September 27, 1941 in Webster City. He graduated from Blairsburg High School. On February 8, 1964, he married Judith Anne Beery at Holy Family in Mason City. He was employed at Dunn's Sure Save Grocery for 6 years and then worked for Hamilton County in Secondary Roads Maintenance for 36 years. He retired in 2003. Gary is survived by his wife of 49 years Judie of Blairsburg, his children, Micki Cormaney of Houston, TX, Cheri and Dwayne Cubbage of Katy, TX, and Troy and Brenda Cormaney of Wright, WY; grandchildren, Lydia Cormaney, Matthew Cormaney, Ryan Cubbage and Jeffrey Cubbage, whom he adored; his siblings, Patrick and Linda Cormaney of Webster City and Mary and Frank Weisberg of Schelbina, MO. Gary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams. He was a fireman in Blairsburg and served as Fire Chief for many years. He loved working out in the yard on his garden and flowers.
