Evelyn Simpson, 98, of Webster City died Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Southfield Wellness Community. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, June 26, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Evelyn Alberta Crystal, daughter of Everett and Bertha (Elkin), was born October 26, 1927 on the family farm near Blairsburg. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City. On October 13, 1945, Evelyn was united in marriage to H. Dean Simpson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked at First State Bank for a few years, then 35 years with the USDA – Dept. of Agriculture.

She is survived by son, Bruce (Diane) Simpson of Cantonment, FL; daughter, Tarry Myers of Story City; granddaughters, Jacki (Jeff) Edge, Jodi (Brad) Woods; great-grandchildren, Katie (Charlie) Marlowe, Natalie (Brett) Pittman, Nicole (Brandon) White, Maddy Edge; great-great grandchildren, Charlotte Marlowe and Josie White; sisters, Dorothy Buchner of Kansas City, MO, Elizabeth Norman of Cedar Rapids, Jean (Jon) Kayser of Webster City; brothers, Bud (Carol) Crystal of Webster City, Bill (Diane) Crystal of Ames and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents, Everett and Bertha Crystal; sisters, Georgianna Gourley, Mary Boicourt, Violet Short-Barrick; brothers-in-law, Gary Gourley, Marvin Boicourt, Estel Short, Harry Barrick, Royal Norman and Alfred Buchner.

She was a past member of First Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed knitting, sewing, caring for her flower garden and collecting antiques. Evelyn and Dean enjoyed 72 years of camping at the Iowa State Fair.
