Ethel Baker

Ethel Baker, 86, of Webster City died Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is caring for Ethel and her family.

Ethel Nadine Dunn, daughter of Elmer and Florence (Harris) Dunn, was born December 25, 1939 in Woolstock. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. On August 15, 1958, Ethel was united in marriage to Gary Lee Baker at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Prior to her retirement, she sold Avon and worked for the Daily Freeman Journal and Van Diest Supply.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Jackie) Baker Jr. of Stanhope; daughters, Jackie (Rick) Weiss of Webster City, Janice (Bruce) Park of Webster City, Julie (Dennis) Washington of Hope, Ark., Jodi (Rusty) Clabaugh of Webster City; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Shadle, Justin Frye, Jeremy Frye, Jacob Frye, Stephanie Arnold, Christina Montes DeOca, Ashley Gulley, Cody Washington, Andrew Washington, Jacob Clabaugh, Tucker Clabaugh; eight great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bella, Eleanor, Finnley, Braeden, Emma, Jace and Khloe and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Gary in 2013; great-granddaughter, Jacelyn; her parents; brother, Ted Dunn and sister, Mary Potter.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Ethel enjoyed bowling, BINGO, camping, crocheting and working at the Super Nationals. She also loved being with her grandchildren and attending their school events along with playing numerous games on her many iPads.
