Erma Studley, 86, of Webster City, died Wednesday, May 26 2010, at Mercy Medical Center at Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Doug Helton officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and prior to the service On Saturday. Erma Jennie Luppes, daughter of Harme and Hilka Tapper Luppes was born August 20, 1923 at Kamrar. She attended Liberty # 8 rural school and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1940. While in high school, she received Normal Training. She attended one year at Webster City Junior College. She taught in a rural schools in Liberty Township, and Union Township. On September 10, 1944, she married Frederick George Studley at Marshalltown. Following his discharge from the U.S. Navy, the couple operated the family farm east of Webster City in Blairsburg Township. They also owned and operated a Century Farm south of Kamrar. In 1969, the couple moved to Webster City. They retired in 1988. Mr. Studley died January 7, 2005. Mrs. Studley is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and Butch Helton of Webster City; Lorinda and Charles Inman of Adel; Ileana and Fred Koerner of Gainesville, FL; Violetta and Timothy Hall, Gwenna and Douglas Jacobson, all of Ames; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Jeanne Studley of Richardson, TX; Thomas and Vickie Studley of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Tamara and John Doran of Ankeny, Christopher Helton of Ames; Melodi and Mark Fielder of Webster City; Coralie and Kevin Voss of Muscatine; Bradley and Cassie Inman of Adel; Katharina Inman of Phoenix, AZ; Holly and Andy Cowx of New Freedom, PA; Jonathan Godown of Orlando, FL; David Hall of West Des Moines; Nathan Hall of Des Moines, Rachel Hall, Sarah, Jordan and Jessica Jacobson, all of Ames; Reid, Andrea and Brett Studley of Richardson, TX; Megan, Eric and Jenna Studley of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Haley, Brenden and Alec Doran of Ankeny; Dylan and Drew Fielder of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, in infancy; brother, Melroy Luppes and sister, Eleanor Bernard. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Barakah Guild, was involved with the Ladies Missionary and Fellowship at Calvary Baptist, was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary, was also involved with RSVP and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, She also was a volunteer with the Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary, She enjoyed all of the many activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
