Erma Mamminga, 85, of Kamrar, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Community Church, with Pastor Peter Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, east of Kamrar. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and at the church Thursday morning. Erma Violet Klaver, daughter of Ben P. and Ollie Naber Klaver, was born June 11, 1922 on a farm south of Kamrar. She attended rural schools south and northeast of Kamrar. On July 14, 1951, she married Carl Edward Mamminga at the Presbyterian Church at Lakota, Iowa. They farmed near Kamrar for 5 years, then moved north of Blairsburg and farmed there for 23 years. The couple retired from farming and moved to Kamrar in 1980. Mr. Mamminga died December 25, 2005. Erma continued to reside at Kamrar. Erma is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Pat Klaver of Kamrar; sisters-in-law, Verla Klaver of Williams and Bette Mamminga of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Vern A. Klaver and sister, Ortha Mae Klaver, who died in infancy. She was a member of the Community Church and was active in various organizations of the church, a former city council member of Kamrar, enjoyed being a part of her community, making quilts and gardening. She was always lending a helping hand to friends and relatives.
