Ella Detmer

Ella Detmer, 105, of Webster City, died Monday, July 17, 2017 at Windsor Manor. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Ella Mary Beyer, daughter of Fred and Klasine Heiden Beyer was born on December 18, 1911 on a farm near Dows. She received her education at Williams High School. She married Walter Frederick Detmer in 1938 at the Vernon Lutheran Church Parsonage. Ella and her husband were farmers in the Williams area. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Barbie Detmer of Ventura, CA; grandchildren, Colette Cosentino of Ventura, CA; Jeryl (Sami) Detmer of Ojai, CA; and one great grandson, Elias Detmer also of Ojai, CA. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; a daughter in infancy; two brothers, Harold and Lawrence Beyer; and two sisters, Matie Ackerman and Elsie Otteros. She was a lifelong member of the Vernon Lutheran Church in Dows. Ella was a talented musician who played keyboard throughout the years of her life. She loved jam sessions, live music and the organ. She was a hard worker and an avid reader. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was comforted by hymns, and Psalm 23.
