Edward Ubben, 93, of Webster City, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Private services will be held at a later date. Edward Ubben, son of Behrend and Carrie Honcker Ubben, was born February 25, 1924 on a farm in Liberty Township, Hamilton County. At the age of four years, he moved with his family to a farm three miles northeast of Williams and attended country schools. He farmed and worked as a farmhand for several years before his marriage to Mary Trampel of Williams on December 2, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church, three miles east of Kamrar. The couple lived north of Williams for one year and Ed was a farmhand. In 1952, they started farming on a farm northest of Kamrar. In 1962 the family moved to a farm northeast of Webster City and in 1964 moved to a farm southeast of Williams. In 1974, Ed and his sons started in the brush painting business and lived there until 1991 when they moved to Webster City. Ed retired in 1995. Edward is survived by his children, Jerald Ubben, Judy Ubben, James (Renee) Ubben, all of Webster City, John Ubben of Blairsburg, grandchildren, Samantha Ubben, Brandon (Katelyn) Ubben, and Cale Ubben; great-grandchildren, Khaiara, Khaizer and Charlie; sister, Elsie Maples of Webster City; brother-in-law, Charles Larson of Goodell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2006; daughter, June Ubben in 2000; brothers, Walter, Arend, Bennie, Leonard, and Melvin; sisters, Rickie Wepel, Ricksta Davis, Carrie Caruth, Bernice McCollough and Minnie Larson; half-sister, Grace Isvik, Katie Seiser and Lena Welch.
