Edward Heslop

Edward J. Heslop, 79, of Webster City, died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will b e held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Foster Chapel, with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and prior to the service on Monday. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 191. Edward John Heslop, son of Edward and Nancy Potter Heslop, was born May 10, 1930 at Lehigh. He received his education at Lehigh and Fort Dodge. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army -- Engineers for two years at Fort Whittier, Alaska. On June 21, 1953, he married Mary Lou Willson at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He was employed at Electrolux and was a Class A press operator for 42 years. Ed is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; son, Lloyd Heslop of Webster City; daughters and sons-in-law, Ranae and Doug Sealine of Jewell; Karen and David Jacobson of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Chad and Beth Sealine of Des Moines; Emily and Sarah Jacobson of Tampa; Brett Sealine of Baltimore, MD; 2 great-granddaughters, Abby and Corrin Sealine; sisters, Leatha Elsberry of Lehigh and Genese Hanus of Denham Springs, LA; brothers Jim and Darlene Heslop of Hope, IN, Dick and Phyliss Heslop of Lehigh; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ida Davidson; Joyce Murray; Frances Summers; brothers William Heslop; Donald Heslop and 2 sisters in infancy. He was a member of the Church of Christ, American Legion Post # 191, United Auto Workers -- local # 442, Webster City Moose Family Center and Elmo Lodge # 62 -- Independent Order of Odd Fellows, member of the Bowling Hall of Fame, all in Webster City.
