Dwain Schafer, 73, of Kamrar died Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. No services are scheduled at this time. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Dwain Leroy Schafer, son of Norman and Vivian (Fleischfersser) Schafer, was born September 18, 1950 in Minnesota. He graduated from Cambridge High School in Cambridge, MN and served in the United States Army Reserve. He was united in marriage to Mary Timinski and to this union two children were born, the couple later divorced. In 1990, Dwain wed Diane Brose in Minnesota. He worked for Ruan Trucking before his retirement.
He is survived by his significant other, Kim Batista; daughter, Tynna Hieb; son, David (Kara) Schafer; brother, Ron (Nicky) Schafer and niece, Katie. Dwain was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; his parents and sisters, Janice Hass and Karen Holz.
Dwain enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Ames.
