Dorothy Clabaugh

Dorothy Clabaugh, 97, of Jewell, died Monday, March 5, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Stanhope Parish Church with Pastor Suzie Moore officiating. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Dorothy Evelyn Tullis, daughter of Orval and Hazel Hicks Tullis, was born November 20, 1920 in Lohrville. She graduated from Rinard High School in 1938 and Tobin Business College. Dorothy worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Fort Dodge and New York. She married Elmer W. Clabaugh on March 6, 1948 at the Rinard Methodist Church. The couple farmed northeast of Stanhope. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Lyle (Mel) Clabaugh Sr. of Jewell, Kenneth (Tina) Clabaugh of Whitmore; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Bromley, Lyle Clabaugh Jr. and Lance Clabaugh; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Kateryn, Lilyann, Norma and Elizabeth; step-grandchildren, Bristal (Brian) Dwyer, Dustin (Leslie) Dwyer; step-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, and Zoey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; siblings, Lloyd Tullis and Eula Mae Vote. She was a member of Stanhope Parish, the Spirit Group and taught Sunday School.
