Donald Maronn

Donald Maronn, 77, of Story City died Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life will be May 24, 2025 at Quakerdale Farms, 26866 Co Rd S55, New Providence, IA, from 2pm - 4pm. Please do not send any memorials to Quakerdale Farms (this will be a venue only). The family requests no flowers at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the family to be given to a charity of their choice. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center of Webster City, IA will be providing services for the family.

Donald Paul Maronn, son of Paul and Agnes Strauss Maronn, was born April 12, 1948 in Eldora. He attended Hubbard Public Schools. On March 31, 1965, Don was united in marriage to Donna Gean Rosine in Bethany, MO. He farmed north of Hubbard and worked at Electrolux in Webster City prior to his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna of Story City; daughters, Kimberly (Jeff) Whittington of Hubbard, Jill (Joel) Krull of Smithville, MO, Deborah Mesch of Eldora; 8 grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Herr, Zachary Whittington (Mikala Harrill), Bryce Whittington, John (Hunter) Krull, Jackson Krull (Kelsey Mothershead), Brittney (Eric) Brockway, Glendon (Jacey) Mesch, Justin (Kaylee) Mesch; 5 great-grandchildren, Parker (Herr) Ellingson, Lilah & Oliver Brockway, Harley Mesch, Banks Whittington; several Fur grandbabies and sister, Shirley Awe of Hubbard.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents.

He enjoyed farming, casino visits, razzing his family and fishing.
