Donald Henry, 78, of Webster City died Friday, October 18, 2019, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gina Sterk officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, October 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church.
Donald Richard Henry, son of Richard and Lillian (Woodburn) Henry was born February 19, 1941, in Rock Rapids. He graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1959 and Stewarts School of Hairstyling in 1963. On August 19, 1962, Don was united in marriage to Marilyn Lohman in Rock Rapids. He worked as an instructor and manager at Stewarts Hair Salon in Webster City from 1963-1974. Don and Marilyn then purchased the business and operated it under the Stylist Beauty Salon from 1974 -2010.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn; their children, Scott (Katie) Henry of Altoona, David (Jennie) Henry of West Des Moines, and Melissa (Tyler) Dawson of Webster City; grandchildren, Sam, Ellie and Ike Henry; Alec and Avery Fuhs; Alleyna and Lillian Dawson; special grand-dogs, Joffie, Ava and Bently; sister, Connie (Mike) Harris of Dike, brother, Robert (Nancy) Henry of Bloomington, IN and sister-in-law, Marlys Henry of Rock Rapids.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Max Henry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Hazel Lohman.
He was a member of Briggs Woods Golf Course. Don enjoyed many years of dancing with his wife, hunting, fishing, golfing, taxidermy and playing cribbage, but most importantly time spent with family and his grandkids.
