Don McCollough, 85, of Webster City died Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Cass Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the services.
Donald Franklin McCollough, son of William and Bernice (Ubben) McCollough, was born August 17, 1938 in Webster City. He graduated from Lincoln High in 1956. Don served nine years in the United States Army National Guard. On August 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Donna Sue Kendall at Grace United Methodist Church in Webster City. Don farmed with his wife for many years south of Webster City and he owned and operated McCollough Brothers with his brother, Keith for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna; sons, Dustin (Danielle) McCollough of Parker, CO, Doug (Amy) McCollough of Webster City; grandchildren, Dylan, Rose and Bella McCollough, Chloe (Garrett) Ament, Derek Krieger (Jayci); a great-grandchild due in April; brother, Keith McCollough of Webster City; sisters, Jan Burnett of Cedar Falls, Kathy (Randy) Guhl of Green Cove Springs, FL; brother-in-law, Max (Jan) Kendall of Zionsville, IN; sister-in-law, Karen (Bruce) Brantingham of Indianapolis, IN and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Carl Ades; and sister-in-law, Martha McCollough.
Don was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee and on many committees. He was also a past president for the Webster City Chamber of Commerce, member of Noon Kiwanis, 4-H leader for his boys, and president of the Iowa Gasoline Dealers Association. Don enjoyed watching races, riding horses, and golfing. He was an amazing husband, father and grandpa and was actively engaged with his kids and grandkids in his areas of passion and theirs.
