Dick Murphy

Dick Murphy, 83, of Webster City died Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at his home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2026 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with caring for Dick and his family.

Richard Lee Murphy, son of Robert and Helen (Albers) Murphy, was born November 18, 1942 in Iowa Falls. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1960 and attended Junior College in Webster City. On May 27,1961 Dick was united in marriage to Marjorie J. Srigley in Webster City. He worked for Conintential Bread for 30 years, and after retirement he worked part-time at North Central Turf. Dick enjoyed woodworking, golfing, and was an avid outdoorsman that liked hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie; children, Rhonda (Kendall) Pruismann of Webster City, Mike (Lisa) Murphy of Papillion, NE, Dirk (Susan) Murphy of Callhan, CO, Lisa (Rod) Hanus of Webster City, Amy (Bryan) Beinhart of Riverside; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Lynn) Crystal and Jeannie (Kurt) Miller both of Webster City along with several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marcia (Gene) Carbone.
