Denton was born on January 30, 1942, to Gail and Leona Emmons in Dakota City, Iowa. On June 28, 1963, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Kay Hassebrock. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage and were blessed with two children, Darlene Kay and Darwin Galen. Their life together was built on faith, family, love, and a willingness to serve others.

Denton was a hardworking and dedicated man throughout his life. He began working at the young age of 13 and carried that strong work ethic with him throughout his life. He operated Emmons By-Ryt, south of Jewell, for four years. He later worked at Franklin Manufacturing in Webster City for 10 years, followed by 24 years with Hamilton County Secondary Roads. He also drove a feed truck for Central Iowa Co-op. In addition to these positions, Denton faithfully served the City of Kamrar for more than 45 years. His strong work ethic, dedication, and willingness to lend a helping hand were qualities that defined him.

Above all, Denton was a man of unwavering faith. He was a devoted member of the Community Church of Kamrar, where he poured his heart into serving God and his church family. Over the years, he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Trustee. Together, Denton and Barb dedicated countless hours to Kids Alive and Vacation Bible School, including driving the church bus. His faith was not simply something he spoke about, but something he lived each and every day. His devotion to God and his willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Denton enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially hunting and fishing. He took great pride in sharing these passions with his son and grandsons, creating memories and traditions that will be cherished for generations. His family was one of his greatest blessings, and his eight great grandchildren brought him tremendous joy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barb; his children, Darlene Emmons and Darwin (Tracy) Emmons; his grandsons, Adam (Chelsea) Kepler, Andrew (Annessa) Pruismann, Sean (Kelsie) Emmons, and Seth Emmons; and eight beloved great grandchildren.

Denton was preceded in death by his parents, Gail and Leona Emmons; and his three sisters, Zeda, Reda, and Judith.

Denton will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous heart, his love for his family as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and the remarkable faith that guided his life. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the community he served, and the beautiful life he built through years of hard work, perseverance, and devotion.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice, Kamrar Rescue, and Treasured Hearts Homecare for their care, kindness, and compassion.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the faith he held so dearly and the promise of eternal life.
