Dennis Pagel, 85, of Webster City died Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Joe Pierson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday evening at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Dennis Rodger Pagel, son of Emil and Linda (Schwebke), was born February 10, 1938 in Hubbard. He attended country schools and graduated from Lincoln High in 1956. He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. On September 23, 1960 he was united in marriage to Kathy Mayes at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Woolstock. Denny worked for Naden’s and Britson’s prior to starting Pagel Window and Doors in 1972.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathy; children, Denise (John) Vulgamott, Deb Pagel, and Darryl (Julie) Pagel all of Webster City; grandchildren, Hailee (Andy) Pittman, Kayla (Josh) Fitzgerald, Melissa (Jim) Roberts, Emma Breon, Bryce (Andrea) Vulgamott, Sarah (Adam) Holm; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle (Mary Jo) Pagel of Ohio; sister-in-law, Virginia Pagel of Fort Dodge and many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Eugene Pagel, Laverne (Judy) Pagel, Virlin Pagel, Virgene (Clarence) Stober, Audrey (Arnie) Odland and Virlaine (Don) Gangstead.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the North Central Antique Tractor Club and a past member of the Woolstock American Legion. Denny loved time spent with his family, especially taking the grandchildren on the tractor in numerous parades.
