Denise Shehorn, 58, of Webster City, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Israel Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Slininger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Denise Marie Woodall was born December 9, 1956, the daughter of Rodger and Veda Woodmansee Woodall in Webster City. She was a 1975 graduate of Webster City High School, attended Morningside College, the Iowa School of Banking and National Compliance School. She married Shelby Shehorn on February 29, 1992 in Webster City. She had worked at First State Bank for 32 years and was currently the assistant Vice President. Denise will be missed by her husband, Shelby of Webster City; children, Brenden (Tom Godart) Berleen of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Nathan (Kate) Shehorn of Portland, OR, Elizabeth (Naser) Shehorn of Lincoln, NE, Emily (Daniel) Jensen of Manson, John Berleen of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Chandler, Brighton, Danika, Fairon, Paisley; mother, Veda Woodall of Webster City; brothers, Dennis (Kim) Woodall of Lehigh, Rodger Gamino of Dallas, TX; nephews, Justin Woodall of Tallahasee, FL, Ben Mingus of Ankeny; nieces, Tamara Gamino of Frisco, TX, Whitney Gray of Everly; father-in-law and mother-in-law; Al and Marcy Shehorn of Ames. She was preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law, Sheryl Shehorn. Denise was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and golfing. Denise was a longtime secretary and past President of the United Way. She was the Treasurer for the RAGBRI overnight stay in Webster City and a member of the Community Band. She taught Principles of Banking at ICCC. She considered her co-workers at the bank her second family and enjoyed the time she spent there. Most important to her were her kids and grandkids.
