David L. Bisbee, 91, of Blairsburg, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. David LuVerne Bisbee, son of Willis and Ada Pearson Bisbee was born on April 7, 1916 in Ellsworth, Iowa. He received his education in the Ellsworth and Williams area schools. David proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On February 18, 1951 he married Geraldine Breitenkamp at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Webster City. David worked various jobs before he began his career at Arrow Acme in 1954 and where he retired as a machine operator in 1980. Following his retirement, he remained active helping area farmers during the harvest season. He had been residing at Southfield Wellness Community since October of 2007. In addition to his wife Geraldine, he is survived by his son, James David Bisbee of Readlyn, Iowa; daughters, Phyllis Jean Bisbee of West Des Moines, and Lorilee V. (Richard) Seiser of Webster City; 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great grandchildren, 1 step-great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bisbee was preceded in death by his sons, Timothy Willis and Donald Dean Bisbee; step-grandson, Tim Seiser; one sister in infancy, Viola Bisbee; and his parents. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a past member of the American Legion Post #191 both of Webster City.
