Darrin Robert Pruismann, 39, of Jewell, died March 18th in a single-vehicle accident North of Ames. Services will be held at Foster's Funeral Home in Webster City on Thursday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. Following a private burial at the Liberty Center Cemetery, the family will convene at UCC in Blairsburg for a luncheon. There will be a visitation for friends and family at Fosters in Webster City as well, on Wednesday, the 23rd from 5-8 p.m. Darrin was born on May 7, 1971 in Story City, Iowa to Robert and Gladys (Draeger) Pruismann of Blairsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Northeast Hamilton Community School in 1989. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman stationed in Ft. Ord, California. While serving in the Army, Darrin was deployed to Panama during Operation Just Cause, where he saw combat and earned his CIB (Combat Infantry Badge), which he wore on his chest with pride. On June 30, 1990 he was married to Laura Rininger of Jewell, Iowa. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Alexis, 19 and Erika, 18. After completing his military duties, Darrin and his family returned to Jewell, Iowa to raise their family while he attended Iowa State University and served in the Iowa National Guard. The couple later divorced. Darrin most recently worked in maintenance for USDA at the National Animal Disease Labs in Ames. He enjoyed hunting, all sports and outdoor activities, politics and NASCAR. He was a loving son, father, brother, and a good friend to many. He is survived by his daughters Alexis Pruismann of Radcliffe, and Erika Pruismann of Story City; brother Bobby (Lisa) Pruismann of Lake Jackson, TX; sisters Dawn (Bruce) Mark of Williams, Lori Tritten of Des Moines; and a younger brother Loren (Cheryl) Pruismann of Fort Atkinson, WI. He was also survived by his nieces and nephews Robby, Casey, Tristin and Logan Pruismann of Lake Jackson, TX; Nate (Kari) Nelson of Storm Lake; Shawna (Derek) Leonard of Carroll; Evan and Logan Mark of Williams. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Katie Pruismann and Raymond and Maxine Draeger, 3 uncles and 2 aunts.
