Cheryl Keene

Cheryl Keene, 69, of Webster City formerly of Pontiac, Michigan died Friday, April 10, 2026 at Van Diest Medical Center. No services are planned at this time. Burial will be in Pontiac, Michigan at a later date. Foster Funeral and Cremation is caring for Cheryl and her family.

Cheryl Ann Matteson, daughter of Carl and Marjorie (Clemish) Matteson, was born July 19, 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan. She graduated from Roseville, Michigan. Cheryl was united in marriage to Harrison Keene, and the couple later divorced. She worked for 20 years at Kmart and also as a gas station attendant. Cheryl and her son, Jacob moved to Webster City recently to be with her sister, Darla, due to failing health.

She is survived by her son, Jacob James Keene of Webster City; brothers, Louis (Pam) Matteson of Davisburg, MI, Darl (Lois) Matteson of Clarkston, MI, Orrin (Mary) Matteson of Pontiac, MI, Brian (Kim) Duncan of Au Gres, MI; sisters, Darla (Lee Nelson) Holmun of Webster City, IA, Ethel Mary (Jerry Nelson Sr.) Matteson Moore of Au Gres, MI and many nephews, nieces and extended family members.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, James Franklin Keene; her parents, Carl and Marjorie; two sisters, Alberta Matteson Sherman and Lexine Boyes and nephew, Shane LaFond.

She was a member of the Great Lakes Church in Rochester Hills, MI. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her son, playing BINGO and cards with friends.
