Bruce Caquelin, 69, of Woolstock, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Southfield Wellness Community. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Flagg officiating. Burial will follow at French Cemetery in Woolstock.
Bruce Henry Caquelin, son of Donald and Ruth Boucher Caquelin, was born May 21, 1949 in Webster City. He attended schools in Woolstock and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1968. Bruce served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1974. Over the years he was employed at various companies including Chantlands and Blacktop Service in Humboldt. He had been retired since 2014. Bruce enjoyed working with wood, working on engines, tractors and helping his friends and neighbors. He loved to tinker around on various projects and to spend time in his workshop. Bruce also enjoyed going to car races and was a prolific reader especially books dealing with the old west.
Bruce is survived by sons, Matthew Caquelin of Woolstock, Jeff (Candi) Caquelin of Rolla, MO, Jason (Krissy) Caquelin of Longmont, CO; grandchildren, Taryn, Sydney, Brooke, Akaela, Laynee and Teagan; siblings, Donald (Judee) Caquelin of Springhill, Fl and Peggy Caquelin of Columbia, MO, sister-in-law, Marlys Claude Caquelin of Hillsboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Caquelin.
