Brenda Kraus

Brenda Kraus, 59, of Stratford, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Lambert officiating. Burial will be in South Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Brenda Sue Carlson, the daughter of Dean and Avis Carlstedt Carlson was born on December 21, 1956 in Webster City. She graduated from South Hamilton High School in 1975. Brenda married Mark Coleman in June of 1975 in Webster City. Brenda raised her family in Walford. The couple later divorced. She married Allan Kraus on October 4, 2008 in Stratford. She had been employed at the Stratford Specialty Care Center. Brenda is survived by her husband, Allan Kraus of Stratford; daughters, Cara (Mike) Hromidko of Cedar Rapids, Dena (Tim) Tegeler of Ankeny; grandchildren, Clayton and Grace Hromidko; mother, Avis Carlson of Stanhope; brother, Larry Carlson of Stanhope; step-daughters, Teri (Dean) Dobbs of Nevada, Sheri (Paco) Gomez of Ogden, Keli Kraus-Smith of Stratford; step-son, Ken (Rhondele) Kraus of Garner; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Cara Jo Carlson; step-great-granddaughter, Jacelyn Glenn.
